Another one of P. J. Boatwright’s “sneaky hard” holes. It will yield its share of birdies – and extract its share of bogies. Legend has it that George Bayer flew the green and hit the boundary fence behind with a monumental tee shot during an exhibition some years back. Boatwright thought players should finesse the ball slightly to the left side from a tee situated well above the fairway, which is 30 yards wide in the landing zone. From there it will be a pitch across the Rooster River to a dime-sized green that is flanked by bunkers. Premium hole locations are in the back right and front left.
