Rules & Etiquette
We are pleased that you plan to join us at our Club, and we would like to make your visit as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

Below are some of our guidelines, and your host can answer any other questions you may have. You may also call the Clubhouse at 203-334-5116 for more information.

Dress Code

Appropriate attire is required in all areas of the Club. Informal attire is acceptable in the Trophy Room and Grill Room. Jackets are required for men on Saturday nights in the Living Room and Main Dining Room. Colored denim is acceptable attire. Blue denim is permitted in the bowling area only (you may enter through the front door of the Clubhouse and proceed directly downstairs to the bowling area). Torn or faded denim is not permitted. Please check the golf, tennis, bowling and pool sections of this site for acceptable attire. Club functions will designate dress code.

Smoking Policy

Brooklawn does not allow smoking other than in specifically designated areas. These areas are limited to (1) the golf course, (2) the parking lot, (3)  the far end exterior porches adjacent to the 18th green and 1st tee and (4) the second floor lounge located above the Men's Locker Room (the "Treehouse"). In each of these areas, however, smokers are reminded to be considerate of diners and other club members sharing those spaces. Smoking is allowed in the clubhouse during League Bowling and for the annual Cigar Night event. Brooklawn considers smoking to include the use of cigarettes, cigars, pipes.

Cell Phones

The use of wireless communication devices is banned everywhere on club grounds and in the Clubhouse with the following exceptions:

1.   Locker Rooms
2.   Parking Lot

While on the golf course, members may carry such devices only in the silent mode and may text and email discreetly without disturbing play. Electronic devices may be used at the Pool in the silent mode.
